6 Amp Gate Driver for power MOSFETs
Does one thing, and does it very well: Turn MOSFETS hard ON, to attain their lowest specified Rds(on). (good luck attaining it otherwise).
Turns them ON FAST, and turns them OFF FAST.
It will both source and sink current from MOSFET gates to provide fast switching.
Supply of 4.7 to 18V, 1.0 Amp continuous output current. 6A peak source/sink current into capacitive loads.
85 ns into 30,000 pF capacitive load
20 ns into 2200pF capacitive load.
Designed to reduce both conduction losses (by fully enhancing the channel), and switching losses (by reducing rise/fall times to their specified minimum) in all MOSFETS.
Can be used to drive other loads: motors, transformers, horn speakers (very loud alarm), signal generators, anything that can handle square waves.
If you're driving MOSFETS any other way, you end up struggling with rise times and incomplete turn-on, and you're not achieving rated MOSFET performance.
The UC3710 has BOTH INVERTING and NON-INVERTING inputs.
