NE5520 to NE5521 converter board (SA5520 to SA5521)
For users of the obsolete NE5520, this is an easy way to upgrade and support your legacy devices. The converter board has been designed to allow the use of a newer NE5521 circuit plugged into an 18-pin socket. The board itself plugs into the original 14-pin socket previously used by your NE5520. The board arranges the pin assignments to accommodate the differences between the two integrated circuits (the board preserves the correct polarity of the output, and for users of multiple circuits there is an option to add a detuning capacitor. This avoids frequency beating arising from the superior frequency accuracy of the newer circuit). The NE5521 has a better performance and is still available at a much lower price than the NE5520.
Boards are sold individually, but for our manufacturing convenience the boards are assembled in a group of eight. We will cut the circuits into individual boards, but we can leave them attached if you let us know.
