This item was the "hand" for a data storage robot. It is a wealth of parts for robotics or hobby. There are two Yaskawa minertia d.c. servo motors on it. They operate on 24 volts d.c. and have 800 count per turn encoders on them. One motor extends the gripper assembly and the other is the roll motor. The assembly is mounted in two precision super slim ball bearings. They are 5 inch o.d. by 4 1/2 inch i.d. The gripper is operated by a small stepper motor and worm screw. The extender assembly has a plastic coated steel lead screw with 9 1/2 inches of travel. There are two 1/2 inch steel slides with three Thompson ball bushings riding on them. There are also several optical sensors for rotation and gripper position. The two lamps on top are 12 volt 20 watt halogen. The ccd camera Pulnix model tm540 is b&w ntsc output.
