This unit is in excellent condition and works great. When I first got it I had my wife go to the opposite side of the house and lightly tip her toes. I could hear her lightly tapping her toes through the floor. I was surprised how great this worked.
The XLT-20 is similar to the XLT-17 and XLT-30. I believe it even has better sensitivity (85 db) than the newer XTL17. Here’s a link to the manual for the XLT-20 http:// /industrial/documents/xlt-20CEOPMANUAL.pdf.
If you Google for an XLT-20 on the web you’ll find that new ones go for around $2,000.
This comes with everything pictured. It has rechargeable batteries but will also run on two regular 9 volt alkalines. The Alkalines seem to work better. The Big-Foot probe works great on concrete or asphalt. Just the Big Foot probe alone goes for around $400 new.
The only thing missing is the Hydrophonic Cylinder. If you need this for direct pipe contact testing it can be ordered from Fisher Labs. Per Fisher the newer Hydrophonic Cylinder for an XLT-30 will work with a connector mod. they can perform.
It also comes with a very nice foam padded carrying case (looks like a trombone case). The case does have a few small nicks and scuffs on the outside but otherwise it’s in great shape.
Also included is a training cassette. The cassette lets you listen to leak sounds and even hear what they are supposed to sound like through the XLT-20. I did not do that but just listened to the cassette. It was helpful.
