The CPCI-540 offers a fast and reliable platform for embedded Solaris®-based applications that require compactness, multi-link IP networking capability and redundant SCSI interfaces. By integrating SENTINEL technology with the second-generation 440 MHz UltraSPARC-IIi processor, the CPCI-540 is the first solution that offers the advantages of "Universal Mode" technology to embedded Solaris applications. The CPCI-540 can run in any CompactPCI slot, allowing a system to be populated with CPCI-540 boards. Hot-Swap capability (PICMG spec. 2.1), which enables the board to be inserted into or removed from an operating CompactPCI system, is another key feature of the CPCI-540. The board family comes in one-, two- and three-slot configurations with up to three Ultra SCSI controllers, seven 100BaseT Ethernet controllers and 1,024 MBytes of DRAM.
